Larry thanks a lot for your comments. Have you read the part with the example of Ataturk?

"Kamal Ataturk was not fighting for an ideology but was fighting for his country. That was his main purpose. On the other hand, the terrorists are fighting for a twisted version of religion."

Here is the thing, these people hate anyone who is different. They hate the homosexuals. They hate the women. They hate the minorities. The non-Muslims were asked to carry around a specific type of clothing to distinguish them from Muslims under Talibans. Their hatred did not arise because of the western policies. The Buddhist temples that the Talibans destroyed had nothing to do with the american policies.

The west is different and that's why they hate us. They blame every single of their problems on the west just like how Nazis used to blame all their problems on Jews. Therefore, they would have attacked us no matter what. They might not have blown away the twin towers but they might have attacked Americans in the middle-east. They would have bombed American embassies and others. That's why I said in my post that the west is partially to be blamed but not totally. I believe that if a citizen of Canada or the US dies anywhere around the world it's a direct offense.

"The terrorists would have attacked the western countries regardless of their presence in their nations."

This is not true and a little research on your part would show it. Terrorism is blow back for US policies. Best way to end terrorism is to cease meddling in the affairs of Middle Eastern countries.Terrorists are also handy enemies to have to rationalize the obscene military expenditure which is a gift to the military industrial complex. (Even better than the Russians since they are a permanent enemy, that cannot be defeated.

[...] Only Three Notes wrote an interesting post today on Do you have a political stand? Here’s a quick excerpt After watching the US primary drama unfolding on the republican side this question popped into my head. Romney and others are trying to portray McCain as being not a “true” conservative. I have seen this in other people as well. Many people know if they stand on the right (conservative) or on the left (liberal) of the political spectrum. They agree with almost everything of their respective parties from the political spectrum. However, I have found that it is extremely hard for me to stand on [...]
