I've had both for years and I still get 3+ spam in my Hotmail inbox each day with maybe one/week escaping the Yahoo! spam filter. I don't use any messengers and I use Google for searches, but I've found pictures on Yahoo! search when I couldn't find them on Google and vice-versa. I use AIM over Windows Messenger, and the rest of their services I could care less for. At least Yahoo has some interesting products that they now own, such as that FireFox musicplayer extension, Y!Answers, and a few other things.
