I have been using the regular magic Jack for
several years with a Florida number without
any problems. Requires a little patience to get
it right but will work beautifully. However,
with a local Ontario number the MagicJack Plus,
it works beautifully with a local number as long as I hook it up directly to the computer's modem, works better than hooked up to the router. Try this and be PATIENT ENOUGH TO WORK WITH IT. FANTIC RESULTS.

It is bullshit. They are scammers. I was excited about magic jack. I paid them $can 10 for overseas calls and another $10 can to get a canadian phone book. But, I doscovered that they ahave purposely put a glitch on the registration process so that you call them their computerized customer service. Endeed I wrote through the internet to the computerized custonmer care. Guess what ? They asked $ 38 to give a solution. I declined. I tried my best, but in vain. I went back to the computerized customer care, this time they asked me $42 can. At this point,I dicided to chose a phone number by myself on their available list of phone numbers to be picked and picked one with a Canadian area code. But instead of giving me canadian area code beside the number I had chosen, they gave me a quite differente phone number with a US area code, though I had paid $10 to get a canadian phone number. But the worst was yet to come. Two days later, when I wanted to use my magic jack, those scammers were asking me register a second time and were asking more money.

I use magicjack off and on to call people in the USA cause for some reason the service i was with wont allow calls to the USA which after speaking to the guy tells me it never allowed it but of course it did.

So back to magicjack for my calls to the USA but not a fan of the 1 hour limit they press on you.

You can purchase magicjack any any Canadian store that sells them. I got mine from a electronic store but ive seen them sold at http://www.techsourcecanada.ca which has stores and bestbuy and futureshop as well as the source. Basically alot of stores sell it.

My brother and I have been using Majic Jack for over 2 years now and we communicate almost
daily from our respective Majic Jacks, he even
called me from "Bali" while on vacation without
any problems. Just needs to be set up properly
and tweeked. FANTASTIC!!! I/we highly
recommend it. Just takes a little patience to
get used to. The savings are great too!!!
Can't go wrong, now I"ve ordered the Majic Jack Plus.

I received an email from Magic Jack that they are charging me $10 for canadian number as renewal fee. It means you have to pay $19 + $10 every year.
