Where did you order your magicJacks from? If you did not use the US website you may have no recourse to get your money back. If you ordered from another site and used a credit card you should dispute the charge with the credit card company and get the charge cancelled.

You obviously didn't order from the right site. If you had taken the time to read my posts you would have ordered from the US site www.magicjack.com. If you ordered from another site you are on your own. I might suggest a call to the police if you haven't received your order.

I have two magic jacks plugged into two separate computers. One for 705 area and one for in the states. (I am sure they have Toronto area codes) With one computer, you would plug in only one at a time. I do that so family etc. can call me without it being long distance. Being widowed, it enabled me to stay connected with friends and family without heavy expense. I have been so very happy that I found magic jack. Of course, especially in the beginning, there were things I had to learn but customer service was exceptional. Do not ever try to take my Magic Jack away from me. If you get one, just do live chat with any problems. It is not absolutely perfect but even the slightest thing like changing usb ports can help if there is static. Also a powered usb adapter in certain situations. I travel with my laptop so, again, perfect. Just plug in, get the internet and talk, talk, talk with no cost. Any messages go right to my email. The heck with telephone company charges
Don't give up if something does not work right. Find out how to correct it.

I got a Magic Jack for my children and it fills what is for me a valuable niche. In our case, the voice quality is fine and it has been reliable.

Here are some of the benefits of a cheap VOIP service with a US phone number.

(1) Many young people today have only a cell phone. Most plans offered in Canada have restrictions as to how many calls you can receive during the day without paying extra. I can call the Magic Jack number at any time to leave a message at no cost to the recipient.
(2) Magic Jack also offers the option of using a corded phone - i.e. one that you can't lose after you forgot to return it to the base and the battery ran out.
(3) They are in an appartment that does have a separate intercom circuit; security phones then when there is a guest. In this and other cases, the caller is intending to call the location and speak to anybody there and for this a Magic Jack that stays there is superior to a cell phone.
(4) You can use the Magic Jack to call your cellphone when you can't find it.
(5) The Magic Jack phone never gets forgotten in the car.
(6) The Magic Jack phone works when the cell phone is unusable as it is recharging, which is fairly often.
(7) Finally, lots of us have long distance plans of various kinds that include unlimited US calling. I have one, so I don't care that I need to call a US number instead of a Canadian number to reach somebody less than 5 Km away from me.
