This post of mine would sound very ugly to many of you guys especially the ones just starting to blog for this very purpose. I do not blame you guys because I can totally understand how you guys would feel. However, I would suggest people to think very hard before taking a decision.

A lot of people out there blogging with their hearts off thinking of making some good cash. To tell you the truth, you can’t make good cash out of blogging. When I look at my money I think of the amount of investments that I have put in to acquire the cash in hand. Well, the amount of effort you will put into blogging compared to the little bit of cash that you will get is not worth it. Put that effort into getting a job and you will make a way more money. Do you now think the same way?

Do not get me wrong. People do make money online but not just from blogging. Including this site I have 7 websites and I usually make 700-800 per month although last month I did cross the 1000 mark but it will go down again. It’s not that much as I make a way more from my job. However, the thing is that this 700-800 bucks come from almost no effort whatsoever.

There are a few blogs however that make a little better money than others. These are the celebrity blogs with pictures of female actresses. They are sort of appealing sexuality while not being totally adult. Adult sites are not allowed in AdSense and therefore, no nude pictures just some random hot pictures of some girls. Go down a couple of posts you will see a post of mine titled “Linux is Sexy” Think of a blog full of these pictures. Obviously I was not trying to achieve that purpose I just found it was a bit humorous. To my surprise the comments of that post were people asking for more sexy pictures. The whole purpose was destroyed. I wonder if people started thinking of Ubuntu or linux sexy after looking at that picture. Hopefully they are.

Anyways, to the people, who are running those “sexy” blogs for money I have to tell them that the demand of pictures is going down. It’s the era of videos now. People into adult want to see videos and nudity. Therefore, if you are running a blog with girls wearing revealing clothes it will appeal to a few people but unless she takes off her clothes a vast majority of the people will not give a shit. If you have nudity you cannot use AdSense, BidVertiser, and many others.

Instead of running a blog and thinking about becoming a millionaire I would suggest to think of a business idea. You can make money from home. Start an internet e commerce business. Start with affiliation. There are quite a bit of money there. Trust me with this. Therefore, you need some real planning. Just posting a couple of messages everyday or more will not get you anywhere. Business is not that easy. A successful business model require lots of dedications and effort. You will have to team up with someone and start doing something. Blogging is easy. Anyone can blog. Even a loser like me can blog. Therefore, you cannot expect that your blog will get you the 6 figure that you are looking for while the blogs of million others won’t.

Some people will argue with me saying that there are people, who are earning six figures. Well, they might be. However, look into their site. They don’t just blog. They do other things on the side. They have affiliate business, they are part of partnerships and people like John Chow part of various scams like “Agloco.” My next post will be about him. He is certainly great but he is too much into making money that he is giving up his integrity in many ways.

I do not blog for money. At a point last year I did try payperpost just to see if it’s worth it. I made a bit more than $100. However, I realized within one month that it wasn’t because I would start hating blogging if I did that only for money. Now I just blog for fun. When someone reads my posts it’s the biggest pleasure I ever get. It’s kind of like a hobby to me. When I used to blog for money I really did a bad job as my blog was getting full of sponsored posts and ads. Now it looks nice and clean.

I would encourage everyone to blog. It’s a really good experience and in the modern world it looks good in your resume even if you are looking for a career in Information Technology. However, please do not waste your time blogging thinking of making lots of money. When you don’t make the amount of money you initially thought you would loose interest on your blog. Unleash the creativity inside with your blog. I know that every person is creative. Blogs give you that opportunity to show the world how creative you are.

It was just my opinion however. What do you guys think? Do you guys think you can make lots of money JUST by blogging? If yes, then what’s your business model?

It might be an old news for a lot of people but I just found out a couple of weeks back. I wasn’t using this a lot anyways and therefore, I was not aware of this “transition.” I recommended this service to my readers from my June 11, 2007 post “Get Paid To Search“Quite a few people signed up for zotspot through my referral link from that post and also the button from my blog on the right side. I really would like to apologize to people, who signed up to zotspot through my referral links to earn money. I guess there was not enough motivation from the part of the administrators to continue with zotspot. This is what happened to AgLoco too. I am starting to think that these types of schemes to pay money for browsing don’t work even though they sound really exciting in theory.

No prior warning was given that ZotSpot would be shut down. As a member, I didn’t receive a single mail that it is redirecting its traffic to goodsearch.com. The accounts were active for one month from the mid december I believe to let people to move their earning. I couldn’t move mine as I just found out yesterday. Anyways, I didn’t have enough money there. A few dollars I earned there because of my referrals. I apologize again for my mistake. From the next time, I would do a fair bit of monitoring before recommending a service.

Yea, ads are very very important! They give us cash or the fuel to keep us running you know. It’s important now-a-days to have a good ad system set up in your website. You need something to motivate you to go forward. For me, it’s a lot of things and money that I earn everyday would be one of the most important elements. I do not earn that much from my blog because I do not concentrate on making money that much like other people. I wouldn’t lie because at the beginning I did try a bit in the money sector. However, later I realized that this site of mine was becoming into something that I was not enjoying. That’s why you can see a big gap of posting if you kind of go through my posts. When I started blogging I tried monetizing a lot but I was not doing a great job with it. Most of those posts were full of information that other people might find interesting but not me. My style is always different. Anyways, still, I wouldn’t lie because money actually brought me back into blogging. I have another site and I earn much more from adsense in that site than this blog. I was concentrating a lot on that site and I was able to increase my revenue to 150% in one month.

This site started to become a little deserted. However, then oneday I saw in my adsense page one click from this blog. That one click brought me $1.29. That was amazing I thought because I realized that the ads that appear in my blog are very expensive ones. One click in this blog will bring 100 times more money than a click in my other site. This happened one week back. I started posting messages everyday after that. As soon as I started blogging I found myself getting atleast one approved Sponsored Reviews everyday. They started to pour a good amount of money for me.

However, ads are still hopeless. Earlier today I decided to take off the ads totally because they were not doing a great job. Then I saw that if I take off the ads, the design of the site sort of get destroyed. I guess, I am so used to these googles ads in my site that if I take them off the site sort of look weird.

It’s very weird that paypal is not allowed in Bangladesh. I have to pay a good amount transfer fee if I want to send money through western union or whatever. The thing is that I prefer to send money through paypal because in that way my identity remains secured. I heard that you can send money through paypal to India even though the service is not that good. However, Indians at least have a way of receiving money through paypal. People in Bangladesh do not have that option. I have been looking for a good but cheap money transferring service in Bangladesh for a long time. It is becoming very important now because I want to hire a few people for a business that I am going to launch on this December. I want to outsource to keep my running costs low. I figured that by taking this approach I would be able to provide my customers with low cost products but also fast customer service and production rate.

There are two reasons why I am considering Bangladesh. My first choice is that I know a lot of people in Bangladesh. Also, Indian currency exchange rate is higher than that of Bangladesh. Therefore, Bangladesh makes a better platform than India. However, when I start hiring, which is very soon, I would considering applicants from both India and Bangladesh. The good thing about India is that paypal is allowed there.

However, recently I found a website, which transfers money at a VERY low cost of $2.99 to Bangladesh. The website is Xoom. The best part of this service is that they offer paypal receipts. Therefore, I am strongly considering xoom.com at this point. I will have to keep my eyes and years open because I still have around four months before my business is launched.

boast 1 (bst)

v. boast·ed, boast·ing, boasts
v.intr.
To glorify oneself in speech; talk in a self-admiring way.

v.tr.
1. To speak of with excessive pride.
2. To possess or own (a desirable feature): “[the] capital of a region in the southeast that boasts bountiful coal fields” US Air.
3. To contain; have.

n.
1. The act or an instance of bragging.
2. A source of pride.

I find it pretty irritating when I see some bloggers boasting how much money they are earning from adsense. The thing funnier is that some people are actually believing it without any proper proofs. Why do some show off their adsense earning? They do it because they think, this will increase the value of their blog/site. The number of regular visitors will rise because people will think that the ideas of the writer “worked” for him/her and so, it should work for the general public. This is sort of a publicity technique some bloggers use and many fall into this trap and become their devoted fans.

Remember that in reality it’s not easy to earn a lot of money just from adsense. The people, who are actually earning a lot doing so because they have MANY websites and they are putting in HOURS into their sites everyday. The people, who claim to earn thousands per month just from their blog is just using the publicity technique. Also, remember that the people, who are getting lots of money will NOT share their secret with you for free or for a simple $60 ebook. The only people, who will do that are the people, who are not earning that much. They would repeatedly report their adsense earning with the hope that the number of regular visitors will rise and that will increase their monthly revenue. Think about this. Bill Gates sharing his secrets to everyone for free or $60. This doesn’t just make any sense.

Also, among the people, who truly make LOTS of money from adsense for their countless hours of devotion will NOT share their total secret with you. They will just give you some hints from time to time but that’s it. Some one for sure I can say earning a lot of money is shoemoney. That’s because he has lots of websites and he has invested a very good amount of time. He does share some internet and money making tricks from time to time but he never reveals his ultimate secret to success. He keeps it to himself.

The losers, who boast about their earning claim to share all of their secrets in their websites. I personally think that you should visit websites and learn from the writers, who are honest. You should listen to the bloggers, who have been blogging for years and have lots of experience. You also need to find your own brand of money making scheme because that exactly how the successful bloggers became “successful.” Do not follow what other people tell you to do. The things that might work for others might not work for you.

Also, you will end up making your blog into something you don’t enjoy. Blogging in my opinion, is a place where you can speak your own mind. If you think about inclusion of high paid adsense keywords or if you think about writing things that bring you a huge traffic you will end up getting tired of your blog. Some people might tell you to stick to only one topic in your blog. They ask you not to make your blog general. In my opinion, you should make your blog very general to reflect your mind. Your mind doesn’t only think about money or technology. Your mind also thinks about creativity, love, philosophy, sports, music and all these good stuff. Write them down. Your blog is owned by you. If you write what other people tell you or what other want to see in your blog then it doesn’t remain your blog anymore.

Therefore, in summary, express yourself in your website. Earning money only from your blog is not really a very good idea. Therefore, keep a number of websites if you are really that serious about online business. Well, start an online business. All these stupid ad clicks will bring you limited amount of money. If you want to get real money, then start real business.

Getting steady readers and visitors to your blog is very important. Not all blogs get them. The secret of getting those steady readers is to focus strongly on one area. For instance, if you are a tech blogger, then focus on technology as much as possible. If you are a political blogger then it would be politics that you would be focusing on. If your blog is too general then it might be a little hard for you to get exposure. For instance, we know microsoft for softwares rather than an entertainment site. You need to get a focus like that. If you look at successful bloggers, then you will find the same. For instance, when you talk about the blog of “Michelle Malkin” then you know that this is a political blog. You will have to get a focus oriented blog like that.

Now, which types of blogs make the most fame and money? Well, look at the popular ranking blogs at Technorati. As you can see that a majority of the successful blogs are actually tech blogs. Whatever political or entertainment blogs that you have there are by either professional journalists or group blogs. Does that mean tech blogs are best in the business? Well, think of this in a different way. The people, who are successful at blogging are the people, who are strongly interested on technology. These people do not get the most out of their blogs because they are blogging about technologies but because they are doing something that they have a high interest on. Now, offcourse people with a high interest on technology will have a greater understanding of increasing their blogging fame and so they get this natural advantage of earning the most. It comes down to the personality of the author rather than the type of blog I believe. People, who browse many blogs, post comments, have a positive attitude, and most importantly blogging about something that they really love would get the most of their blogs. Let’s discover the prospect of non-tech blogs.

Political blogs: I was reading at a newspaper a few days back that majority of the bloggers are white conservative men. Well, this is true. The top two popular political blogs at Technorati are actually rightwing blogs. I have also seen conservative blogging communities such as bloggingtories are a way ahead of their “progressive” counterparts in both content and exposure. Therefore, there is a very strong “market” for political blogs. Your blogs do no need to be conservative blog but you can attract those people in your blog to argue with them. Sometimes, I have seen in political blogs, low ranking blogs have a huge amount of comment posted than the tech blogs.

Entertainment Blogs: Entertainment gossip and hottest news will give you many visitors. Sometimes people would just come to your blog to check out the pictures of hot actress you have. You can actually use the “sex appeal” method here without admitting it. There are not many entertainment blogs and so there is a good chance that your blog might suddenly get exposed to MTV or other entertainment tv channels.

Religious Blogs: Religion is a very heated matter now-a-days. Basically, the reason of religion, if we need this ancient element in our life or not and many more things create heat everyday in many blogs. If you can someway get the atheists and christians or muslims and jews fighting in your blog that would be really cool.

Daily Blog: Some people blog everyday just to share their everyday experience. These blogs might also do good if you can write posts with a humourous touch. People would visit you everyday to see what new and weird stuff you have faced in your life. People always love to invade others privacy and now they can do it with “permission.” Therefore, you might get quite a few daily readers for your blog using this technique.

There are many other types of blogs like photo blogs, video blogs, humourous blogs etc. Photo blogging is very interesting and I will write a post on this very soon. Therefore, it doesn’t matter what kind of blog you run just make sure you have the greatest interest on it. You will have to waste hours on this blog and you really do not want this to be something you do not enjoy doing.

People seem to be very scared of affiliate programs at the beginning. If you would like to explore the area of affiliate business a bit more then try out Auction Ads. The following ad is going to be from auction ads.
[aads]money[/aads]
Auction ad is an amazing program because it directly puts live ebay results in your post if you own a blog. The items that are viewed in the auction ads are not that expensive but very attractive. If you have lots of visitors then you will for sure earn a lot from AuctionAds.

There are some tricks that you should follow to improve your earning

Integrate the ad box within your post. Make the advertising area part of your post. Look at the ads that I have posted from auction ads. Note that I have disabled the border just like adsense but it is more important for AuctionAds that you make it appear as part of your post. It should look like as if you are the one, who is offering these items. If your visitors trust you then they will trust these ads as well

Avoid using the 468X60 banner ad because people seem to have a “banner blindness.” Make it quite visible for your visitors

You should download Easy AuctionAds Plugin if you are using wordpress. This plugin requires minor adjustments but this works amazingly well. You just ad a small tag in every post and that would make the auction ad appear.

Try out auction ads and see how it works. If it works good for you then continue. If you have a blog with not much visitors then I do not think AuctionAds would be that profitable at the beginning. That is because you will not be earning money per click but you will earn money when someone you refer from your site actually buys the item. Therefore, you will need a strong visitor base. Nevertheless, you should try out and see how it goes before you try other affiliate programs.

Searching, yes we do that a lot. I know I do that a lot. I came across this website that would pay you for just searching. I have done some research and found out that Zotspot was lauched on October2006 and has been receiving lots of press publicities. That is because this is the first website that would pay you for searching. I went to their site and found the layout to be very simple like Google and also to be pretty fast. The major advantage would be that you would be paid for just using their search engine. They claim that you will be making lots of money by using this a lot. More people use Zotspot, more revenue this site will get and in turn you will be getting more money. The source of income for the site I think is only the ads that they show. Therefore, the source of revenue for them increase as more and more people participate in the site.

I am not doing any extra search as I have signed up for ZotSpot. I am just doing searches at here before trying at google. If I do not find any specific information in zotspot then I turn to google.

Another interesting thing is that you would be able to easily allocate certain portion of your earning towards various charities. Therefore, give it a try.

[aads]search engine[/aads]

Let’s face it, the bloggers like us spend a good amount of time online. We love the online world and many of us wonder about having a source of income from internet. Well, one very successful way of earning money is to scam other people. Many newcomers into the internet world might find these scams very attractive since they are written in that kind of language to attract the people. However, we need to be very careful.

Do not go for those typist job or work from home advertisements. Most of them ask for very low amount of money such as $30 but after you pay them most of the time you do not receive anything in return. Even if you do get anything in return, it will have one page asking you to scam someone else and get some money through that way. For instance, it will tell you to put up the same advertisement that pursued you to pay and you can earn money this way by selling these ads. This is sad but we see bullshit advertisements like this all over the place. There are some ways you can actually spot these scams

They will tell you that you will get lots of money but they never tell you how exactly you are going to receive them. Some of them might actually say that they have contract with big companies, who hire typists to work from home. However, they never mention the names of these companies. If I have contracts with reputed companies I would actually brag about them rather than hiding their names.

They are not going to offer any kind of telephone support. If you have contract with big companies and if you are going to provide your employees with $400-$500 per week from home then you must have some kind of telephone support. These companies do not have because they are all fake

Some people claim that lack of “Money Back Guarantee” in websites can be pointed out as fake. That is true. However, many fake websites would also claim “Money Back Guarantee.” Therefore, do not base your decision on this point.

Those ready-made affiliate websites are also big scams. Do not go for them. You are actually helping these people to scam innocent people like you.
Do not go for paid email reading websites. They pay you only 2 cents reading per email. I know because I have tried it. This is very crap. You can however try the survey websites. Many of them are very legitimate and they do surveys for good companies.

Let me start with some good news before going into agloco. Some changes in the google policy has taken place and from now on you will be able to have a maximum of three link units in each page. It used to be only one link unit per page but google seems to have changed that policy.

The other noteworthy update: now you can place up to three link units on a page. As we’ve noted in the past, link units are a great way to provide relevant, user-friendly ads in hard-to-fit locations on your site. With the new opportunity to place three link units — and the plethora of link unit formats — we hope you’ll find great ways of incorporating this unique ad format on your site.

Therefore, go ahead, place up to three link unis in your page. I have none at this moment because I am still experimenting with the different ads. I am trying to figure out which ones are good and which ones I should take off. I will eventually use link units but not yet. However, link units are very successful and powerful way of making money. Therefore, use link unit.

Now about Agloco, well, this is going to be interesting. I received an email from agloco a couple of days back.

We are pleased to report that your AGLOCO Viewbar has been released and is ready for you to download now. Since you signed up with AGLOCO, our community has continued to grow even larger, stronger, and more active. With the Viewbar software, we are excited for each Member of the AGLOCO community to begin earning their share of the wealth generated on the Internet.

Here is how to download and launch your Viewbar:

1. Go to the AGLOCO website at https://www.agloco.com/c/portal/login and login to get to your Member Account page. There is now a “Download the Viewbar” button on that page.
2. Simply click the Viewbar download button and follow the download directions. Please click “Run” when offered to Run, Save or Cancel.
3. You will need to enter your Account ID# (or email address) and your AGLOCO account password to activate your Viewbar.
4. After you download the Viewbar, you can launch it for first time by going to your Windows Start Menu and clicking on the AGLOCO Viewbar Icon.

If too many Members are downloading at the same time you may not be able to get immediate access to the Viewbar (a “timed-out” or “no access” page may appear). If this happens, please try again after a short while. If you have a Norton firewall you may be asked to allow access to “viewbar.exe” and “update.exe” (please check “Permit Access Always” for proper installation of the Viewbar).

The Viewbar is currently available for Windows 2000, Windows XP, and Windows Vista and will work with IE (Internet Explorer) or Firefox browsers. When ads start to appear on your Viewbar, please be aware that the Viewbar ad targeting system will not be fully active at first (this will not impact your accumulation of AGLOCO hours).

If you encounter any problems during the download process, please send your questions to help@agloco.com so that we can assist you.

Dan Jorgensen
Member Coordinator

Okay, right after receiving the mail, I tried out agloco but I found that the website was down. As I am writing post, the agloco is still down. I was able to install the tool bar but the ads were not working and from their FAQ I found out that you are only allowed to browse with the bar 5 hours max per month. Therefore, well, how much money are you going to make in 5 hours every month. I think this is just waste of time and valuable memory space of your computer so far.

However, this lack of organization I guess started due to the fact that Agloco was not ready for this huge response. There are room for improvements. I love this idea. I use google toolbar and I use internet a lot and if I could get some money out of my use of google toolbar, it would have been great. If you think like that, then Agloco I guess is pretty great.

Anyways, there are both positive and negative sides. To learn more about Agloco, CLICK HERE.
