Yahoo decides that they would work with Google not with Microsoft. These executives of Yahoo are pathetic to tell you the truth.

Yahoo walks away from Microsoft negotiations
Yahoo is nearing an agreement with Google involving its search advertising business

Today there is an internet monopoly by Google. I am not against Google. I cannot live without Google as I said before. However, I really do not like the Monopoly that Google currently has over the internet. Similarly, I cannot live without Microsoft but I do not like the Microsoft monopoly over the Operating Systems and softwares.

Therefore, an agreement with Microsoft would have meant the rise of stronger competition against Google. Now, Yahoo made Google more powerful over the internet. I wished Yahoo! made a bit more smarter choice.

Stop Safari NOW!

Microsoft created Windows in a way so that IE works the best with Windows and hence forcing people to stick with IE. A lot of programs required in IE actually starts up at the beginning when you boot up your computer. Therefore, they are scamming us. Now that Safari started to take over the market they are spreading propaganda wars against Safari asking people to stop using this browser. This is absolutely ridiculous. I really hate these types of propaganda that Microsoft runs. We do not see Apple doing such a thing ever.

Let’s beat Microsoft in their own propaganda game. Diggity diggity diggity NOW!

I never tried out the Microsoft World’s blog posting features. I always post from the WordPress WYSIWYG. I know a lot of people type up their posts in Microsoft Word because they like the spell check features and many others. I am personally not a big fan of Microsoft Word for creating online contents. The reason is because a lot of the characters that the word includes do not appear with a lot of older browsers. I do not want to take the risk of assuming that all my visitors are using latest IE. Most of the developers (including me) are actually still using the IE 6.0 simply because this version has a bigger market than 7.0. People just don’t seem to want to upgrade to 7.0 yet even though it’s out for a long time. Anyways, I try to make sure that all my visitors get the best user experience as much as possible. Therefore, I do not use it.

Today, however I decided to give this a try. Currently, I am typing this post my in Microsoft Word 2007. After I am done I will click on publish to publish it to my blog. This is just a test run to see how it goes. I know that many established people in blogs strongly recommend to type up our posts in Word before posting. I would rather suggest using something like Frontpage to type your posts up. Frontpage also uses the same spell check but it won’t insert the stupid characters that mess up display in older browsers and emails.

Better, why not give Google Docs a try? They have a decent spell check and you can just copy and paste your posts after you are done editing. This one automatically saves your information and therefore, while you are outside with an internet connection you can easily type it up.

There are lots of options you have. I would definitely suggest using a spell check no matter what. If you are using Firefox browser then it automatically includes one. It might actually be better to type up in MSWord if you don’t have any other options. However, look for characters that cause issues. Anything that is “curvy” like the quotation mark I used around the word “curvy” could cause issues in older browsers. There are other characters such as “ellipses” or” apostrophe.” Watch out for them and you will be fine.

What do you think the future of computer is going to be? I think when we will turn on our computer it will first connect to the internet to reach the Operating System and that will boot up your computer. Then you will start working on whatever you want and when you save materials it will be saved in your online storage. Your computer would be a very basic machine that would only allow you to connect to internet.

Now, Google Docs is a major step towards that situation. It provides you a very basic Office suite. This must be the most convenient one as well. The reason is because you don’t have to carry around USB sticks and worry about losing that piece of material. You do type up or work on whatever you need to do online and then go to your office and turn on your computer and there you go. All your information is saved just the way you left it at home. I find this really good. I save my work information in Google docs and reports in the spreadsheet. After I get home I don’t have to open up my MSWord or Excel. I just sign in to Google Docs. It is also great when I have classes in my university. It’s very simple and fast.

There are some issues still exist in Google Docs. I still cannot use this as my primary Word Processing software. There are many reasons. One of them is that I don’t find the spell check of Google docs that good especially if they involve the medical terms. They totally suck at it. Most of my university papers involve medical terms. I like MS word much better in that instance. The printing output is also not satisfactory and many others. I am pretty sure however Google is working on this to make it as good as MS Word or other office software.

Google is taking this initial leap. Hmmm. it makes me wonder if Google wants to be the “Microsoft” of the future. They could be. They are much smarter than Microsoft on the internet. They obviously have a much better business strategy. Even with fewer resources Google is the champion in whatever they have touched. Google believes in simplicity as you could see in all their products. Maybe in near future you will see something like Google OS. You never know.

What do you think about this? Is it a big leap or you think Google docs is just a bogus approach by Google? Or are you one of those people who think Google Operating System is a joke?

Everyone is talking about this whole situation now-a-days. I think Yahoo was just being pure stupid by not accepting the deal presented by Microsoft. The reason is because even though Yahoo was big once upon a time they are not big anymore. They are so useless now-a-days online. When I say useless I mean that I can live without Yahoo. I cannot live without Microsoft and I cannot live without google at all. Therefore, they are essential. That’s just me. What do you think? I know a lot of people use Yahoo! messenger but let’s face it, Windows Live Messenger is actually if not better as good as the Yahoo! messenger. Why else would you use Yahoo?

Do you use Yahoo? What’s the most important usage of Yahoo for you? Help me out here. I don’t see any particular important usage of Yahoo! Do you think the same?
